Genesis 4:7
If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.”
Genesis 4:7 (NASB)
From the beginning, the word of God has encouraged humanity that we are overcomers. We could master our circumstances from the inside out. The enemy tries to get us to go from the outside in. When God made Adam, He said it was “good.” But, what happens when we don’t act out that good. Cain, who killed his brother Abel, did so because Abel did “good” in HIS offering to God.
Cain’s offering was not good and his countenance changed and he looked
outside himself at Abel being the reason. God encourages Cain to look inside so God says: “If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.”
Cain is being reminded that because of the fall, sin is in the world, but because something is inside of you (the breathe of life – God himself) Cain can master/overcome sin, not only that he “can,” but that he “must” do so, in order to have life flowing on the INSIDE. You see it is not others, but you, and more so, CHRIST in YOU, being your only HOPE of Glory — glorifying GOD in you. Amen! Fight the good fight of Faith by…
HAVING FAITH IN GOD, and the CHRIST IN YOU!
